What is HiCalc ? Where can be applied?

Hicalc is a software package to quickly solve open channel flows with rectangular, trapezoidal or cylindrical section and some hydraulic structures. HiCalc Full V1.5 solves:

HiCalc is written in MS Visual Basic and works under MS Windows 95 or superior. The program that you can download is free to use and the copy distribution is allowed. However, register code distribution is forbidden.

How many versions are available?

HiCalc is now available in three versions:

HiCalc Test : free to use and copy distribution is allowed. Functionality is limited mainly to a number of times and to rectangular channels. Hydraulics structures such weirs and underflow gates can not be solved with HiCalc Test.

HiCalc Light : To get this version you need HiCalc Test installed in your PC and one HiCalc Light V1.5 Register Code. HiCalc can be used to solve rectangular, trapezoidal and triangular sections. Functionality is limited mainly to solve uniform flow. Hydraulics structures such weirs and underflow gates can not be solved with HiCalc Light.

HiCalc Full : To get this version you need HiCalc Test or Light installed in your PC and one HiCalc Full V1.5 Register Code. HiCalc can be used to solve rectangular, trapezoidal and triangular sections. Funcionality is not restricted. Next HiCalc mayor upgrade free with at least same functionality than this version..

How to get the differents HiCalc versions?

If you still don't have HiCalc running in your PC, please download it by clicking here. This is a free download. Once unzipped the downloaded file (HiCalc.zip) you will find the file "Hicalc.msi" (*.msi is the standard file-name for windows installer).

If your Windows version does not recognize the extension as an instalation file, you can download the windows installer (see bellow) and extract all files to the same folder where you extract HiCalc.msi. Then run "setup.exe".

Install the downloaded file and it will run in HiCalc Test V1.5.0 mode. HiCalc will solve uniform and gradually varied flow in rectangular channels. If you wish to expand HiCalc functionality, you must switch to HiCalc Light V1.5 or HiCalc Full V1.5 mode.

To switch between different versions, you need a Registration Code.

Once installed HiCalc in your PC, the user's manual (HiCalc's help) shortcut is included in your HiCalc Folder (start menu).

I have a Register Code From a previous version of HiCalc. Does HiCalc recognize me as a registered user?

HiCalc 1.5 will not recognize automatically users registered from previous versions. According to our upgrade policy, registered users from HiCalc Full V1.4 will be able to run HiCalc Full V1.5 with no cost introducing their HiCalc Full V1.4 Register Code.

Others Register Codes from HiCalc's previous versions are not valid to switch HiCalc Test V1.5 to HiCalc Full V1.5 or HiCalc Light V1.5.
